The lubricant has long been a pretty taboo topic, and that's unfortunate because there are so many different types of lubricants out there. Lubricant is an important part of the bedroom for people with different preferences, medical needs, or just to add some variety into their sex lives. It seemed like most lubes were either water-based or silicone-based, but now we have hybrid lubes that can be used with any type of toy and last longer than ever before. But what about those people who are sensitive to smell?
If you fall under this category, then you might want to avoid these strong-flavored lubricants currently on offer! First on the list is the product I've seen most recently, a water-based lube called ID Juicy Lube. As the name suggests, this lubricant is designed to taste like some of our favorite fruits, and it comes in three different flavors: strawberry kiwi, cherry grape and blue raspberry. While they may smell great, you probably want to avoid these if you have problems with smell.
Even if you do let them touch your skin without washing it off, there's no guarantee that you will remain smelling like strawberries or cherries for the rest of the day! The next product on the list really wants to be out there in terms of design, but I can see why people might not appreciate its appearance! This is an organic lubricant called Sliquid Organics Natural Gel made from aloe and other natural ingredients. Although it is organic, this lubricant does contain saccharides which can cause irritation to the genitals, just like glycerin and fructose found in most water-based lubricants. Although it might be good for your body, the packaging of this product could make you think twice before using it! The third product on our list is a silicone-based lubricant called Wet Platinum, and while their name seems designed to attract people with its reference to platinum (one of three different types of lube we'll be talking about today), this one should probably go in the trash bin along with that bottle of strawberry kiwi juice.
I say that this lubricant can cause a bad reaction if it's used with condoms or other types of barrier methods because it contains silicone. I'm going to be completely honest about why these next two products were included on our list: they smell really, really bad! The first is a water-based lube called Maximus, which smells very strongly of artificial grape flavoring. The second is WET Naturals Silky Light made from glycerin, parabens, and propylene glycol.
If you have problems with any sort of genital irritation, then avoid lubes like these, as they can make you uncomfortable. On the flip side, however, these lubes are excellent for oral sex because they're not intended for genital use, meaning that they won't cause any sort of reaction. Your mouth is much more sensitive than your genitals, so you can enjoy the taste of all six different flavors without having to worry about an itchy vagina or penis!
